Overview
Packing List
Active Shoes
Perfect for venturing into those hidden gems and less-traveled routes.
Conservative Clothing
We suggest packing some modest attire, particularly for visits to religious sites. Generally, it's best to dress conservatively, with shoulders covered and clothing that reaches the knee. It's a good idea to leave low-cut tops and short shorts at home.
Hat & Sunglasses
Shield your eyes from the sun and protect your face.
Swimsuit
Are you ready for some sun-soaked adventures on desert beaches or perhaps a relaxing day by the pool?
Sunblock with SPF
There's nothing like a nasty sunburn to put a damper on your vacation fun. We suggest packing sunblock with SPF to shield your skin when you're out and about.
Lip Balm
The desert's arid climate can be tough on your lips, so we recommend bringing along some lip balm for a little TLC.
Protect Your Tummy
We suggest packing some Pepto Bismol and Imodium for those unexpected tummy troubles. If you're someone who often feels queasy during travel, Dramamine can be a real lifesaver for motion sickness.
Hand Sanitizer
Do I need to say anything else?
Bug Spray
We recommend using bug spray containing DEET or Picaridin to keep pesky bugs at bay and ensure you stay healthy throughout your journey.
Day Pack
For toting around cameras, snacks, sunscreen, water, and other essentials.
Packing Cubes
We'll be hopping from one hotel to another, and these will help you stay organized along the way.
Reusable Water Bottle
Keeping ourselves hydrated is key to a great experience. We'll have plenty of opportunities to refill with clean water during our stay.
Towel
We always reach for quick-dry fabrics.
Portable Chargers
Perfect for keeping your batteries powered up while you're out and about.
Travel Adapter
We recommend bringing a universal plug as your best bet.
Ear Plugs
Are you a light sleeper? It's handy to have if you're sharing a room with someone who snores.
Laundry Soap
Individual packets are ideal for quick sink washes when you're short on clean outfits.
Local Currency
We recommend grabbing some local currency before you head out. If you wait until you're at the airport, you might end up losing about 15% due to exchange fees. Although cards are widely accepted, those charming little local eateries often prefer cash-only transactions.
Call Your Bank
Banks can sometimes put a hold on your card if they notice any unexpected transactions. It's a great idea to give them a quick call to inform them about your travel plans, including your destinations and travel dates.
Always pack extra underwear!
Language Information

Culture Notes
The UAE is deeply connected to Islamic traditions, so even in the vibrant city of Dubai, we recommend showing respect for the culture by dressing modestly. It's a good idea for both men and women to wear clothing that covers the tops of their arms and legs, including the knees.
It's important to know that public displays of affection beyond holding hands can lead to arrest. Additionally, sharing a hotel room with someone of the opposite sex is only allowed if you're married or closely related. Be aware that homosexual acts are illegal and can result in imprisonment, fines, and deportation if discovered.
In the UAE, there are very strict anti-drug laws with a zero-tolerance policy, and airport searches are quite thorough. Medications that might be over-the-counter in other countries, such as those containing codeine, could lead to arrest. We recommend checking the banned-substances list here. It's also important to always carry a doctor’s prescription for any medication you plan to bring into the country.
When traveling to the UAE during Ramadan, it's important to remember not to eat, drink, smoke, or even chew gum in public. Not only is this considered highly disrespectful to those observing the fast, but it is also prohibited by law in the country.
